Helping out and volunteering

If you are over 16 and have experience or skills and a little time to spare please feel free to contact us about any help you can give either in practical terms helping with the site maintenance, gardening, helping with the animals, grooming and helping with training or delivery so please do get in touch for a chat.

This needs to be based on a genuine desire to ‘give something back’ and not just to indulge your own love of animals so please do bear this in mind before contacting us as I’m sure you will understand the reasons behind this.

We are looking for help with a range of skills but in particular joinery/painting skills to help renovate our lovely Romany play caravans on site and also gardening and gardening training skills to help run our small walled garden to use as a horticultural therapy opportunity and also to grow fruit and veg to feed our animals.

The grounds here are beautiful and look amazing but take a lot of hard work to keep up to a good standard so even if you can help out the odd hour weeding or poo picking the paddocks it will be much appreciated.

We have all the infrastructure in place in our gorgeous walled garden with raised beds Poly tunnel and greenhouses and this now needs a dedicated community team a few hours a week to bring it back to life and get growing!

We would also like to offer some music and art therapy so if anyone has connections and skills for this please let us know.

Holistic therapies and selfcare are also on the agenda so any therapists out there that have a spare few hours we would love to hear from you as we have a full therapy suite already here on site and ready to go.

We are also keen to see the site used for counselling and therapy where appropriate and are happy to offer the use of Ravenstone Manor for this purpose. Please get in touch to have a chat about your ideas and needs.

For more info on our site please go to www.ravenstonecountrymanor.co.uk

Use of the site is strictly by arrangement only.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to have volunteers that require supervision to a degree themselves as the jobs are all practical tasks that need volunteers to be able to get on with the job to a large degree once shown what to do.
