Terms & Conditions
The terms and conditions are very simple and straightforward as we are not charging for the majority of our work which is based on an optional donation for your activity.
If your group cannot afford a donation that’s completely ok and we do understand but as we are funding all the work ourselves personally as a family and owners of the site and we want to ensure this can run as a long term facility anything you can contribute for the staffing , care and vet treatment of our animals would be gratefully appreciated. It is costing thousands of pounds per month to run so it is an ongoing need i’m sure you will see.
These activities are offered on a needs basis and also on a strict fairness policy enabling other new groups to participate as times go on.
We understand sometimes last minute issues will necessitate a cancellation of your booking but please be aware you will need to go back on the waiting list for another place to become available to continue with the booking. Anyone who cancels more than 3 times will not be able to apply for a place going forward as our places are very limited.
Please ensure that your sessions are run to the time agreed and you arrive at least five minutes before the session start time as we cannot extend the length of the session unfortunately as there may be other sessions booked after yours.
The sessions can either be on a one off capacity simply making an enjoyable and educational visit or we can look at a 4 week course each week with specific target goals for the children to achieve. These can be adapted by arrangement and discussion.
If you do choose a longer course it is essential that all sessions are attended as this is part of the structure to enable achievement.
The maximum group size we usually offer is 10 and preferably 6-8 is a more manageable number as you will need to provide experienced carers.
For more able groups it is sometimes possible to increase these numbers.
If you do not bring sufficient experienced carers it will not be possible to deliver the session for you as our staff simply deliver the sessions and cannot be responsible for individuals other than when interacting during the sessions.
Please do not bring any additional people with you other than participants and carers or by arrangement management/inspection staff.
Please let us know if there are any children who cannot be used in photographs and social media otherwise it will be deemed that there is consent for this to help to promote our work.
Terms & Conditions (Paid Activities)
Most of the above applies to anyone booking a paid community activity or one to one session but please be aware that the funds paid for these activities are going to be directly helping to support all the Free of charge work with the groups.
Due to staffing costs it is not possible to offer one to one sessions free as it is not cost effective for us to do so, the charge for this is directly funding the individual session. If the person participating requires a carer these places on the session are offered free of charge and again we cannot provide the care element of the session ourselves so the session cannot go ahead if support isn’t in place.
This will all have been agreed in advance of the first session.
All sessions must be paid for at the time of booking and a booking form will be sent to you by email. Last minute cancellations will not be refunded as our staff will have already been scheduled to work and deliver the session with preparations made.
Sessions that have not been paid for cannot take place on the day we are sorry.
However, with 7 days notice it will sometimes be possible to reschedule the session to another date in the future.
Sessions must start and end on time and generally are one hour long for individual sessions and one and a half hours for community group session.
All Health and Safety requirements that are explained to you at your visit must be strictly adhered to and children must be supervised at all times and not allowed to wander freely on site. It is the carer’s responsibility to ensure this happens throughout the visit. If there are issues with unsafe behaviour the session will be stopped, unfortunately.
The welfare of all concerned and especially the animals used in the sessions is extremely important.
